How to create my Synthetix account?

Updated over a week ago

To create a Synthetix account, you only need to connect your wallet and deposit collateral.

If you’re having trouble connecting, please see: How to connect my wallet?

⚠️ ACCESS NOTICE

During the ongoing trading competition, deposits are temporarily disabled.
You’ll be able to create an account and deposit collateral once the platform opens to the public.

For updates, please follow the official Synthetix X (Twitter) account.

How to get collateral

There is two ways to get your wallet funded.

Supported Collateral

  • USDT

  • sUSDe (coming soon)

  • wstETH (coming soon)

  • cbBTC (coming soon)

In this example, we’ll use USDT.

Option 1: Buy USDT

  • On a centralised exchange (e.g. Binance, Coinbase, Kraken).

  • After purchase, withdraw USDT to your Ethereum wallet.

Option 2: Swap for USDT

  • Use a decentralised exchange (e.g. Uniswap) to swap another token (ETH, USDC, etc.) for USDT.

  • Make sure you’re on Ethereum Mainnet when swapping.

⚠️ Always double-check you’re receiving USDT on Ethereum Mainnet (ERC-20), not from another chain like Tron (TRC-20) or BSC (BEP-20).

How to deposit collateral into Synthetix

Once you have USDT (or another supported collateral type), you can deposit it to create your Synthetix account.

  1. Connect your wallet.

  2. In the app, click 'Create Account'.

  3. Select the collateral you want to deposit from the list of supported assets.

  4. Type the amount your wish to deposit and confirm.

  5. Click 'Create Account'.

  6. Confirm the approval in your wallet.

  7. Confirm the deposit transaction (requires ETH for gas).

Once your deposit is confirmed, your Synthetix account is active. You can now trade, stake, or provide liquidity.
